FOUNDER JIM LAMANCE, Ph.D.

Jim LaMance is an aerospace engineer and avid woodworker. Jim’s career highlights include developing a GPS navigation system for the NASA X-34 rocket plane and developing a high-sensitivity track-less GPS receiver pioneered by Global Locate (acquired by Broadcom NASDAQ: AVGO). As CTO at Locata, he led the development of a high-precision, time-synchronized, ground-based positioning system before shifting to a customer-focused role, supporting the design, integration and development of precision positioning systems in partnership with some of the world’s largest industrial OEMs.
Before getting his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, Jim worked as a Master Carpenter.
